Annual accounts (NBB model)
View the balance sheet and income statement in real time, then issue the annual accounts in the abbreviated or micro scheme of the National Bank.
The Annual accounts tab brings together everything you need to finalise a fiscal year: the balance sheet and income statement calculated in real time, the balance by period, the consistency checks and the year-end operation. The official document in the model of the National Bank of Belgium is issued from the Exports tab.
The Annual accounts tab
The screen is organised into four sub-tabs.
| Sub-tab | What you find there |
|---|---|
| Balance sheet & P&L | Assets, liabilities and income statement in the abbreviated scheme, at the position date of your choice (As of). An indicator shows whether the balance sheet is Balanced or Unbalanced, and the result is described as a Profit or a Loss. |
| Balance by period | The net movements of each account, period by period, with the total for the fiscal year. |
| Consistency | Three checks: continuous journal numbering, match between the date and the period of each entry, dates within the fiscal year. |
| Year end | The current result and the closing button. See the Year end page. |
The amounts are recalculated each time the screen is opened: an entry saved a moment ago is already included.
Issuing the annual accounts in the NBB model
- Open the Exports tab of the company file and choose the fiscal year.
- In the Financial statements group, find Annual accounts (NBB model).
- Choose the Scheme: Abbreviated (default) or Micro.
- Enter the General meeting date if you wish.
- Click Preview to check the document, then Download PDF or Download Excel.
The document includes:
- an identification page: name, legal form, address, enterprise number, RLE, date of the general meeting, fiscal year covered and previous fiscal year, currency, model used, directors or managers, accounting firm and ITAA number;
- the balance sheet (assets and liabilities), the income statement and the appropriations and withdrawals, in the order of the rubrics of the model, with the columns "Codes", "Financial year" and "Previous financial year";
- the notes: statement of fixed assets (detailed per asset in the abbreviated scheme, per group in the micro scheme) and valuation rules;
- a checks page: assets equal to liabilities, reconciliation of the result with the trial balance, consistency of the result carried forward, accounts not attached to a rubric, financial accounts in credit to be reclassified, size indication.
Every page carries the notice "Preparatory document for filing". NovaFisko does not generate the XBRL file and does not file the accounts: the official filing is made in the NBB Filing application. The full scheme, the social balance sheet and the management report are not produced.
Entering the identification data
Some particulars cannot be derived from the accounts. They are stored in the settings of the company file:
| Data | Use |
|---|---|
| Default scheme | Abbreviated or micro, proposed each time the document is issued. |
| Date of the general meeting | Shown on the identification page. |
| Directors or managers | One name per line. |
| Valuation rules | Your own text. Failing that, a standard text is provided in the language of the document. |
| RLE district | Legal notice shown in the header of all documents. |
Presentation choices to be aware of
- The amounts are established before the closing entry of the income statement accounts. A fiscal year that is already closed therefore keeps its income statement in the document.
- The result of the fiscal year not yet appropriated is presented under rubric 14 of the balance sheet, as if it were carried forward in full. If the general meeting decides on a different appropriation (legal reserve, dividend), post the appropriation entries (accounts 69 and 79) before issuing the final document.
- Credit balances of customers, debit balances of suppliers and bank overdrafts are not reclassified automatically. Overdrafts are flagged on the checks page.
- The size indication (micro or small company) is based on the balance sheet total and the turnover. NovaFisko does not know the headcount: check the staff criterion, over two consecutive fiscal years.
The annual accounts model is specific to the Belgium pack. For a company file on the France or Luxembourg pack, the balances and books are available, but not this model.
